WHAT?????????

Did you see the comment my mom made last night?????

Thanks everyone for your kind words regarding our situation.

We found out today that our insurance does not cover for the collapse of our barn.

The excavator has already torn down most of the collapsed barn and will finish tearing the rest tomorrow. Then the clean up will begin. No small task.

What does insurance cover if not accidents?

I'm just floored by this, Jackie.

Please post when a fund raising effort is in the works. I'll help in any way I can.

The whole situation is appalling. What's the point of having insurance if it's not going to buffer you against this kind of event?

But the thing that galls me the most is the Milk Marketing Board and the whole quota situation. It is immoral to fine the farm for circumstances that are completely beyond the control of the farmer. The flood last spring just happened, the lousy hay crop just happened. It's already a punishment just having to deal with those things, but to add a fine on top of that is the height of unfairness. The public needs to know what these monkeys are up to. Farmers have it tough enough without some bureaucrats making things even tougher.

Seriously, let me know where to help out. No one family should bear that alone, especially one that is working to feed other families.

Insurance covers the company's profits. What a horrible experience, I'm so sorry.

Oh, no.
Agree with Mira's papa: this is indeed immoral. How awful. I am so sorry.

So Sorry! Reading the preceeding post and seeing how so many people came together to help - you'd think the insurance companies could learn a thing or two about actually helping out.

You know: in the times we've had to deal with insurance (although, it's been with health insurance, something you all don't have) we've found that if you push hard enough, for long enough, they give in. It's happened several times - they just try to see if they can deny you, really, and if you accept it, they're happy.

PUSH THEM!
