Happy New Year

2009.

My sister gave me a couple of puzzles this Christmas. Christmas is the one time of the year that we do puzzles. The rest of the year seems to be a little too busy.

My first reaction was "ohhh! Aren't they pretty!"

And then I actually looked at the image with the eyes of puzzle builder and though "ohhh! Evil Puzzle!" Lots of dark areas, lots of reflections in water, lots of back and orange fur.

Day One
It took me over 2 hours to sort the pieces and do the frame. I decided that it was not going to be a one day puzzle.

Day Two
Thankfully I had help. Mira and Bill both helped quite a bit. Simon and Liam put some pieces in. Even Nicole helped in her way. Which usually consisted of her pointing at a blank spot and asking,"Where is this piece?"

Day Three
And the last bit of the puzzle was actually done when I wasn't looking. I was out doing a job for someone and Mira finished it off.
Day Four

2009. Hmmm. I wonder what the picture of my year will look like in December 2009.

I can vouch for the fact that this was truly an evil puzzle. Even the "easy" parts were difficult. The difficult parts were downright nasty. Mira, however, is persistent, and she toughed it through the very hardest parts at the end.

The next puzzle, another big cat, looks just as nasty as this one.

I've been known to open a puzzle, take a random piece and put it in my pocket and keep it just so I can do the last piece. Well, I do that to MY puzzles, not someone else's! :D

Thats a nice one! The best one I ever had was all one shade of blue. That was it. Just... blue. There was a spiral texture to it so it wasn't just guess work, but it was HARD. I loved it a lot. :D

PS: Play date tomorrow?

If the picture of your year involves a big cat emerging from the water somewhere nearby, Global Warming must have really accelerated in a bad way!

Happy new year!

That's a beauty. It looks good enough to hang on the wall.

When I do puzzles I forget about all my little problems. It is truly relaxing for me.

What I have noticed about my evil puzzle this Christmas was that the pieces were cut to all intersect exactly in line. There were no pieces over hanging the others. Sometimes a piece looked like it fitted but if it even was a hair longer than the intersecting line I knew that it was in the wrong place.

Sorry Jackie,

I didn't mean for your puzzle to be evil. I thought it was a very nice and safe puzzle.

At least it wasn't a 5000 piece puzzle. :) Those should be outlawed.

@ Christine

But it's only when the puzzles are evil in their level of difficulty that they present an appropriate challenge. Easy puzzles lack anything to sink your teeth into. Easy would be boring. This one made us all work hard.

Guess you had good weather for the long haul home? It was windy and cold, but clear and sunny here.

Like I said on Facebook, I'd paint it white and give it back to my sister! LOL
We were given a three puzzle set but until my great nephew is gone I'm not even opening the box!
