I finally have two son in laws now. It was a beautiful wedding, very casual and it was nice to see the excitement in the children. The weather was perfect for the wedding. The food and drinks were fantastic and so were the guests. Had a great time.
Wishing you all the best for a happy future and thank God that you're not living in sin anymore.lol...

...um, Jac? I think after four kids, you were an honest woman anyway.

I mean, you didn't run out of the house, screaming.

(Often.)

Gee, congratulations!

Congratulations! And I wanted to say that I just purchased a spinning wheel, partly inspired by you and your blog.

I've waited a very long time to weigh in on this post. Hoping that there was "more to follow", before I did. Alas, no new post in over a month, and no new comments, so it's time.

Mamoo. Glad you liked the food, the drinks, the guests, and the perfect weather. We aimed to please, and judging from the comments received, it was all received very well by our guests, as we hoped it would be. We knew the guests would be great, and we put a lot of work into the food. And the food had to be our food.

However, to correct one of your comments, we have never been "living in sin". The origin of that word, "sin", in the ancient Greek, means "to miss the mark", and Jackie and I have never, ever, missed the mark. We hit it very much in the centre, right from day one, from the charm and innocence of the way we met and courted, to the way it all went afterward. In any and every way, some of which can't be recounted here, we hit the mark square on. Be completely assured, we hit the mark (or otherwise I have no idea where the mark is) and for my part, all arrows still fly straight and true to the mark. They have never wavered in 17+ years. I am the most fortunate man in the country that I share my days and nights with her.

Dave, I even Googled "CONkavernaGRATULATIONS" and I have no friggin' idea what that means. Perhaps I've just been away from large cities for so long that I've missed out on the latest in hip language, but in spite of my general love of English and linguistics in general, that one blew right past me. After leaving the halo of Toronto I must have transformed once more into a small town hick. Sigh.

Getting married to Jackie was the happiest event of my life. She's not perfect (neither am I), but she's a supremely talented, generous, intelligent, beautiful woman who is the reason I can get out of bed in the morning to face the insanity of this screwed up world and, so far, have not given in to despair. She's my best friend in the world, and we make are a great team when we work on any kind of task, the making of great meals being one of our favourites. After all these years I still feel thrilled to wake up in the morning and have my first sight be the usually sleeping visage of my wonderful Jackie. I feel sorry for men who have experience less.

And so I make a couple of errors (grammar) in what I wrote above. Fatigue and wine will do that, even for someone who loves language and writes a lot.

Sorry Mira's Papa for not checking on One Thread Two thread lately as I've been looking at the icon of the last photo of the wedding and it hadn't changed in two months on my top sites so I had assumed that there were no further comments. I've been blogging daily since August the 2nd and it's keeping me busy enough.
If you're interested in checking it out, it's called Of Petals and Wool

sorry I don't know how to add the link here in a comment

Well it's getting up toward 5 months on now, and I have to say that I absolutely love being married. Awesome woman.

5 months already. Where has the time gone? I'm glad that my daughter is an awesome married woman. JB

JB, she was awesome before she was married. Awesome from the day I started spending time with her. An irresistible kind of awesomeness.

Julia said...

Gee, I wonder where she got that from. Not from me, for sure. She must have learned that craft at the school of crafty design. JB

Jackie's awesomeness wasn't something she could have learned. It is natural, and it just oozes out of her pores. She's mostly not aware of it. Or doesn't "get" it. It's just a part of who she is. I think I mentioned one time to you about the lighting of a cigarette without matches? No hollywood starlet, no room full of them, would I trade her for.

OK, then it's clear to me that it was a gift from the Creator. LB
